Conventional forms of business training, such as small business education, continuing education, and more formal entrepreneurship/business education programs are often unable to successfully meet the needs of many entrepreneurs. In start-up and growth ventures, the challenges that tend to arise are complex, integrated, and multidimensional. These issues require the ability to problem solve across the boundaries of a variety of business functions.

FastTrac® programs are designed with a learning-focused approach that emphasizes these key elements: Programs are designed and facilitated by entrepreneurs. Facilitators, business coaches, guest speakers, and other community supporters are integrated into the program to provide critical expertise.  The unique, facilitated-discussion approach creates a self-discovery learning environment.  A shared-learning climate enables participants to learn from each other as well as from the program materials, guest speakers, facilitators, and business coaches.  A variety of facilitated activities gives participants hands-on exercises to apply directly to their business concepts, resulting in a written Business Plan.

Participants in a FastTrac program learn to operate their businesses effectively to identify useful sources of information, and to make decisions based on trust and competence. In this learning-focused environment, participants will:

  • Hone skills to create and/or grow a successful business.
  • Learn from experienced entrepreneur facilitators, business coaches, guest speakers, and peers.
  • Transfer knowledge in a peer-to-peer environment.
  • Expand their network of community resources.
  • Work ON their business, not IN it.
  • Receive continual feedback from experienced entrepreneurs
  • Learn a business development and planning process they can use as a tool for the ongoing development of their business.

What makes FastTrac Different?

FastTrac is written by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. It helps entrepreneurs hone the skills they need to create, manage, and grow successful businesses. Entrepreneurs come to FastTrac to work ON their business, not IN it. They receive coaching from experienced entrepreneurs, expand their connections with community resources, and interact in a network of peer entrepreneurs working toward similar goals.
